I think Scotland was the perfect place to study. At school, you get a balance of arts, humanities and sciences training. Such a broad training is important to keep your mind open. At university, our 4 and 5 year degree programmes give you the time to think and develop as a graduate that isn’t available in shorter, especially 2 year degree programmes. Our universities are also world-class in terms of their research. So why go somewhere else especially as it’s free to go to university in Scotland to study for a degree if you live in Scotland!
Scotland was a great place to study and I’m proud of the success of our universities here. But, for some adventure and some more sun New Zealand would have been fun – I’ve no clue of about their Uni’s though!
All universities and schools in different countries are unique. I think it is best to study locally where we live and there should be options to visit many schools and universities across the world as short educational excursions. Knowledge and skill transfer across the different parts of the world is absolutely wonderful. I studied in India, United States and Sweden and currently doing research in Scotland. I think I learnt a lot due to many movements i made.
