Way too long!! Since I started my undergraduate degree in Chemistry in 2006, so 13 years!

If you count the weird “science experiments” that I used to do when I was a kid where I mixed lots of mud and flowers in a bucket, then around 25 years… I’ve been doing science officially since I started my undergraduate degree, so since 2012!

If you start like Bryony with playing around with science as home or school, I’ve been doing that for over 40 years. Even if you count the start of my undergraduate degree that was in 1979… 40 years ago this October! I’ve been a professor for over 13 years!

I believe cooking, cleaning and many other daily-life activities include chemistry and therefore we start doing science (without knowing much about it) from a very young age. I only started learning/interpreting science when I started my undergraduate degree. Since my undergraduate days I am actively involved in science; and that is roughly 16 years now.

Hey, I guess officially since I got my first job which was in 2012, so almost 7 years! Wow, that’s scary actually I didn’t realise it was that long….But, as Sumit has mentioned below, loads of things are really science that we might not realise so, unofficially, much longer!
