Yes… in fact I often take my wife along when I go to conferences abroad!

Hey, I like your name! Yeah, my family are definitely supportive of me because they know I like my job and I’m happy doing it so that’s all they care about. I’m not sure they really understand what I do, I’d have loved it if they could log into this!! My gran is always asking me questions about it! My boyfriend is pretty interested in my job and he is always trying to remember any reaction names I mention so he can drop them into conversation at a later date and surprise me with his knowledge – nothing he ever says makes any sense!

Absolutely! My family has always been supportive with my career choices and their support is one of the reasons I’m doing this job today 😊

My parents are in India and they are very supportive. My wife is staying with me in Edinburgh. She is doing PhD at QMRI, university of Edinburgh. We understand each other quite well as both of us are doing research. Research is not always exciting, it is sometimes frustrating. Therefore supportive family is very important. I am happy and fortunate to have that.

Yes, my family are very proud of me doing science as a job, especially since none of them went to university so I am the first person in my family to go.
