I don’t think teaching is for me – it involves standing up in front of big groups of people and presenting things – that makes me feel quite nervous. I still get nervous when I have to do presentations here to my colleagues at work but it is a big part of the job. I think to be great teacher you need a very specific skill set and I’m not sure I have it. I have huge respect for anyone who can teach. For now I’d like to stick to what I do!

In a sense, I’m already that… I spend about 30% of my time teaching aspects of chemistry to undergraduate students.

I love teaching, I really enjoy that. I used to spend my Sunday morning teaching S2, S3 etc students. I teach undergraduate students in university. I think teaching to someone encourages me to read and learn. It refreshes my understanding.
