During my PhD studies I would go to field trips almost every week. We were mainly going during low tide to collect seaweeds and sponges. When we wanted samples from deeper sites we would go scuba diving which is of course more expensive and requires more time. I also went on a 3 week research cruise in the Atlantic ocean. All field trips are super interesting! I prefer the ones that involve diving because I love being underwater and also the research cruises because its so much fun being on a boat with other scientists and crew members!
